Well, yesterday I saw something that was a major blast from my past, granted I didn't remember ever seeing this movie until it was brought up in a list by That Guy with the Glasses.
But first, a story.
When I was a wee thing (lamb?) I would visit my grandmother quite often. I still do, but I have a life developing, so visiting as often as I can has become less frequent. Anyway, we used to go to the library and check out books and movies to enjoy at her house.
One that I had completely forgotten about until now was
Raggedy Ann and Andy: A Musical Adventure. I certainly remember watching it, but I didn't know what was going on at all. That is, until yesterday when I found it and watched it again.
My goodness. What can I say about this film? It's certainly...creative. For the first half of the movie, I adored it. The second half, not so much. Let's just say that the animators got very creative. I'm not dissing great art and animation--it was friggin' amazing, more so since the movie was completed in the
1970s. Why is there so much hype over animation with computers? Seeing some of these shows and films, I'd think that the quality of entertainment has decreased.

I'm looking at you, Disney. You better make my day with Princess and the Frog. I'm not even interested in that "G-Force" crap.
I'm rambling. If you're interested in watching the film, you can click the
[link] right here and enjoy something that's half adorable magic and half acid trip.
And some fun facts!

If you're a fan of
Grease, I'm pretty sure you'll recognize the voice of Ann. Yup, it's Frenchie! ^^

I'm now convinced that the reason some shows these days have poor quality is because of lack of effort put into them.

Why do Maxie Fix-it and Andy have such likable voices?

I find those twin dancing dolls to be unnecessary and a sad attempt at trying to be funny. Then again, I'm sure there was some point in a little girl's life that she had naked dolls lying around somewhere in the playroom.

The Greedy is a wonderful example of animation, but he's so surreal that I'm sure he'll scare half my audience away. Same goes for the Loony Knight, who reminds me of something from
Yellow Submarine, a film I never want to see again.
America was here.
Enjoy the grease stain on your page.
